O.K. RKS members:

As promised, the next Randall for us to discuss is the Randall Model #2-7", "Fighting Stiletto"! Bo Randall first started making the Model #2 in 1943 (early to mid 1943). Designed for our servicemen and to be a stouter, more beefy, version of the Fairborn-Sykes style of dirk (Commando), the Fighting Stiletto was a bit more of a utilitarian knife than it's British predecessor. I believe that the 7" was the original blade length offfered.
Today the Randall shop forges 6,7, and 8 inch blades out of 1/4" stock in carbon and stainless steel. Additionally, a smaller 4 and 5 inch are offered in 3/16" stock. This Model #2 will be a 7 inch version (in keeping with the "theme") and will sport a leather handle. I would like to know your ideas for hilt, butt cap, wrist thong, etc.? Let me hear from you. We have 4 days!! (no pressure)
Thanks, Capt. Chris

PS: Here's one recently on my website in a 6" with a "reduced" hilt"...(just to show that there "are" options out there)...CCS

Ouch!! I can feel that blade going the full length of my fingers on a thrust. I'm a full double hilt fan when it comes to daggers.

Wow, that's a real unusual configuration for a model 2! Here's 4 of my favorite model 2's in my small collection.

Yikes ! What Mike said. Very unique knife Cap'n but I think I want a double "finger stop" on the daggers.

Here is one of my favorites. Unfortunately I have never been able to take a picture that does it justice. It's way "purdier" in person...

I would like to see all brass hardware, black & brass spacers, thong hole and rounded over butt cap. Captain, I really like that 6" version you have there.

I like the idea of the brass double hilt and brass butt cap, similar to how the Model 1 ended up. Anyone up for stainless for this one?

I'd like to see the same configuration as the Model 1 but with a Commando style handle.

I would go for brass #1 style hilt, all black spacers, brass butt cap, radiused, commando shape leather handle, wrist thong.
We could go either O1 or stainless

I like brass #1 double hilt, brass/black spacers, commando shape handle, brass butt cap/rounded, wrist thong.
I can go either 01 or SS for the blade.
Thanks Cap!
