Hello All,

I just received a plant from a member from tpt that he sold as eleocharis belem. (which is what I thought I was getting) but when it arrived, it looked a lot like eleocharis parvula (which I already have a ton of). I know that it is difficult to distinguish, but I was under the impression that "belem" has a more compact and shorter, curved blade growth, usually less than 3". And parvula has a straighter blade and grows much taller.

Is anyone able to tell from the pics below if the plant I received shares more characteristics of either parvula or belem? I was hoping to find a hairgrass that would grow less than 3" tall ideally for my nano tank. there is such a hairgrass out there right?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Walter

I think it's parvula (here's a pic of some parvula from an old tank of mine). It looks just like it.

Been quite a few people selling parvula as belem as of late. Beware. :( This isn't the first I've heard of this happening recently.
