This Suzuki Samurai got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1986 Suzuki Samurai is a soft top example finished in blue over blue vinyl upholstery and powered by a 1.3-liter inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. It is equipped with 15″ steel wheels, manually locking front hubs, mud flaps, and a Pioneer cassette stereo. The truck spent time in California and was acquired by the seller in June 2022. Subsequent service is said to have included overhauling the engine with a Petroworks rebuilt cylinder head and replacing the head gasket, timing belt, ignition coil, spark plugs, PCV valve, and fuel filter. This Samurai is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a current California smog certificate, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The truck is finished in blue with side stripes and features a white Bestop soft top in addition to a swing-out tailgate, wheel arch extensions, and rear mud flaps. The seller states paintwork was performed on the left fender and door under previous ownership. Close up photos of blemishes along the body are shown in the photo gallery.
White-finished 15″ steel wheels are mounted with Kelly Explorer tires. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The front bucket seats and a rear bench have been re-trimmed in blue vinyl and are accompanied by patterned door panel inserts. Appointments include a heater, all-weather floor mats, a digital clock, and a Pioneer cassette stereo. According to the seller, the carpeting was replaced under previous ownership.
A three-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and frames a 95-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 82k miles, of which approximately 300 were added under current ownership.
The 1.3-liter inline-four was overhauled in July 2023 with a Petroworks rebuilt cylinder head and replacement gaskets. The seller notes additional service since 2022 included replacing the timing belt, ignition coil, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, PCV valve, vacuum lines, and fuel filter.
Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Corrosion is noted on underside components, and the seller reports the throw-out bearing makes noise.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in California from the first entry in 1991. The truck was designated a gross polluter by the state of California in May 2015 and subsequently passed a California emissions test in October 2023.
