On the City of David hill, next to the Western Wall, the city of Jerusalem was born thousands of years ago.
Come and see for yourself the horizon of ancient Jerusalem. Walk underground in the waters of the Siloam tunnel, touch the ancient buildings and be part of a magical, mysterious journey to the heart of Jerusalem.
For those walking in the wet route – bring suitable shoes for walking in water and a change of clothes.

Important note: It is difficult to find parking next to the Kotel and the City of David. These are our recommended arrival directions.

Walking distance from Karta / Mamilla parking lots to the City of David is approximately 20 minutes. Arrival by taxi is recommended.
Mt. Zion parking lot (fee charged):

Zion Gate / David’s Tomb parking lot (fee charged) – Approximately 9-minute walk to the City of David. Parking based on availability.
Navigation for walking:
Coming from the Kotel, turn left at the Dung Gate and it is a 2-minute walk to the City of David.

Egged bus routes:
Route 1 – Central Bus Station – Kotel
Route 3 – Central Bus Station – Kotel
Route 38 – Jewish Quarter (circular route the goes by the Kotel)
Route 2 – From Kikar Tzahal (IDF Square) / Yitzhak Kariv Street (circular route operated by Superbus)
Taxis:
Taxis are always allowed to enter through Jaffa Gate; therefore, you can get to the City of David by taxi.

- There are lockers on the site for storing belongings (for a fee). There is no place to keep baby strollers
- For those walking the wet route – bring suitable shoes for walking in water and a change of clothes
- One can purchase a ticket for the 3D show or the Spring Presentation, based on availablity at the visitor’s center, with an additional fee of NIS 15 per person. The purchase of the tickets is only possible for those who have purchased an entrance ticket to the National Park.

The City of David makes complete your visit to Jerusalem, you see heavenly wonders that are hidden in the City of David, the pool of Shiloam and the the Hezekiah Tunnel is a must see. I’ll visit again soon. Shalom.
Amazing. A must when in Jerusalem. Walking through the 500+ meter water tunnel from the 8th century BC is an incredible, one-of-a-kind experience not to be missed.
My husband and I came with 5 kids ages 4 to 10. We didnt hire a guide but followed the maps. It was awesome!!! The kids insisted on following the wet trail (cave with water about 550 meters). We weren't prepared for a water hike so we got wet but it was a lot of fun! In the israeli August heat it was amazing and refreshing and we all had a lot of fun. Bring a flash light as the cave is dark. The water trail is not suitable for kids in strollers or babies as you cant carry the babies easily in the cave (at points its narrow, low and you have to hunch down).
