Windows Vista Ultimate Fancy is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created by Benjamin Samson. It released on February 2, 2008, and was added to the archive on May 30, 2023. It is Benjamin Samson's first bootleg. It was originally made as a test. He published Windows Vista Xtreme Edition some months after, which is currently lost.

This bootleg would set an example on how Benjamin, and soon, his Rockers International Team group would make all their bootlegs afterwards. Things such as the over-the-top branding, extra software and wallpapers, and the autorun style would become staples in Benjamin's bootlegs.

Description

This bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO, with many drivers (along with a boot selector) integrated.

It is intended to be themed after Windows Vista, and does it extremely well, which is no surprise, considering this bootleg literally came from a (soon-to-be) experienced Vista bootlegger. Clearly, he knew the ins and outs of Windows Vista very well, long before he even made an actual Windows Vista bootleg.

It comes with many new programs, themes and wallpapers, and cursors and icons, along with registry tweaks. It comes with its own autorun, and specialized software packs. It has 2 software collections that drop to the Start menu's programs, one in the root of the user's Start menu, and another in the Start menu programs itself, which are subsequently split into their own categories. It is unattended and preactivated.

Through the autorun, you can access things like Internet Explorer 7 and a "Windows AeroGlass Theme" (which is just WindowBlinds 6.0 build 32 (RR Works Keygen, comes with one skin, AeroGlass)), along with the 2 specialized software collections and their respective autorun loaders. You can also access an instruction guide for the aforementioned "AeroGlass Theme".

The ISO was made using nLite 1.4, the autorun was made with AutoPlay Media Studio 7.1.1000.0 (rebranded as Peniel Media Studio 7.0), and the boot selector used was EasyBoot.

A very well done rendition of the Windows Vista welcome center will now open up every startup. And that could only be from the xFree Welcome Center 2.1.
The default SysDM has been replaced with Glass SysDM, but the original version remains as "sysdm2.cpl". OEM branding and Support Information has been added to them
The Run dialog now has the Windows Vista winver banner
The Winver branding has been updated
The text-mode setup OS text is changed

Changes in pre-desktop procedures

New setup graphics. The background now has extra text added onto it showing the author's email information, name of the bootleg and the creator's name. The Ultimate Fancy at the top right shows a repeated background behind the text, which was not necessary.

Remarks

In the installation guide for the "AeroGlass Theme", there is a concerning sounding line, possibly intentionally written as a way to scare off people peeking around the files of the mod itself.

Don't try any heroism work like extracting the files which i created....if so it will create the Trojan and Worm Virus and it will inject into your system...But don't afraid...Normally their will be no such viruses in that Files...It Will create only when you try to extract....Thank You and Enjoy using Windows Vista Ultimate Fancy

Bootleg quirks

The setup billboard text shows faking the registered symbol with a @ symbol.
The OOBE graphics has, again, text added to show the creator's name, which is positioned in the top left. There is also a copied and pasted background behind where it didn't need to be.
The login screen logo has the OS name written on it. It is similarly styled to Windows Vista's logo on the bottom. The "Fancy" is written in a script font, where the last letter is cut off slightly at the bottom.
Most of the available gadgets are broken or do not work at all.
Although you can freely change the displayed avatar in the Welcome center, it will not have any effect on the actual user avatar.
It is fully possible to freely move the "Welcome Center" text in the Welcome center, which is the only real flaw of the program.
IDM is supposed to have a crack registered to "MerCuRy", but it gets overwritten with "MiKiCuN MiKiCuN" instead.
The "Ultimate Fancy" theme is a duplicate of "Vista Ultimate".
The C: drive has its own folder background.
The command prompt colors are set to gray on purple.
