Where to Grab a Drink Outside in Arlington, Virginia

Bar patios, brewpubs, and beer gardens galore from Rosslyn to Westover

View as Map

There’s a serious “hot girl summer” vibe surrounding Northern Virginia bars right now, and it goes far beyond the DMV’s trademark humidity. With COVID-19 vaccines widely available and businesses shedding public health restrictions, people want to gather and celebrate. In Arlington, where Metro stops at Clarendon, Ballston, and Court House stations drive traffic to local watering holes, the options for drinking outdoors include beer gardens big and small, a wine bar with a romantic atmosphere, and a brand new place for summery cocktails.

The latest CDC guidance for vaccinated diners during the COVID-19 outbreak is here; dining out still carries risks for unvaccinated diners and workers. Please be aware of changing local rules, and check individual restaurant websites for any additional restrictions such as mask requirements. Find a local vaccination site here.
