  • Herbaceous perennial, to 2.5 to 4 inches (6-10 cm) tall, from a horizontal creeping rhizome.  Leaves have 3 leaflets, 6 × 3.5 cm, green, glabrous above, margins and underside with long hairs, long petiole (3-20 cm).  Flowers solitary, 2-2.5 cm across, white to light pink.  Fruit 7-8 mm, globose.
  • Partial to full shade, dappled sunlight, humus-rich soil.  Somewhat aggresive, but excellent for an untamed woodland setting.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 7     Native along the coast from the Olympic Peninsula to California, up the Columbia River Gorge and onto the western slope of the Cascades in Oregon.
  • Oxalis: the Greek name for sorrel, from oxys, acid (sour), a reference to the acrid juice of most species.   oregona: of Oregon.
