Supermodel Elle Macpherson’s nickname “The Body” stemmed from her three SI Swimsuit Issue covers in a row in the late 1980s, among other industry work. The term was coined by Time in ’89, and it’s stuck with the 59-year-old ever since.

In a Dec. 19 Instagram post, Macpherson shared some introspective thoughts regarding what she would tell her younger self given the chance, most of which related to her physical body. She accompanied the message with a photograph of herself captured by Darren McDonald for Harper’s Bazaar Australia

“If I could step back in time and have a word to my younger self about my body, I’d tell myself, ‘Easy does it, but do it,’ and do so with joy in your heart,” the mom of two wrote. “I’d also remind her that there is no point giving yourself a hard time in your quest for physical perfection. I’d also say to myself, laugh more, sleep more and find the joy and beauty in all you do. You ARE beautiful, unique, natural and vibrant right from your core (we all are) and all you have to do is be authentically you! Be you!”

Many of Macpherson’s 721,000 followers connected with her message and shared their thoughts in the comment section.

“I also think you could add ‘never water yourself down or apologize for being a powerful woman,’” one person added. “The right people will love you 🥰💫♥️.”

“Well said wisdom ✨♥️,” another fan noted.

“This is REAL! 😍,” someone else gushed.

“Perfect advice Elle 👏🥰,” an additional user cheered.

“This needs to be in every little girls bedroom!” another person suggested. “Showing young girls to love who they truly are! ♥️.”
