I would like to speak about my experience with having both shoulders replaced by Dr. Kassam. 40 years as a Journeymen Linemen I wore out both shoulders. I was in pain everyday for a year & a half, now I'm getting back into surfing and lifting my 6 grandkids. I'm so grateful for the quality of care I had throughout both of my surgeries. Dr Kassam's staff are awesome, very professional & kind. If you want your life back, pain free, please come & see Dr Kassam. Dr Kassam has done that for me, he can do it for you.

Dr Kassam and his entire staff are extremely professional, knowledgeable and caring. From my first visit, through my pre op, surgery and after care have been amazing. My care has been excellent and on going. I was hesitant to have this procedure done but I am so glad that I went ahead and had it done. I actually feel much better now, better than I did before my surgery. It has only been two weeks ago today and I am feeling so much better.
Dr Kassam and his team are top notch and their treatment and care is exceptional.

A five star plus rating. The skill and knowledge that Dr. Kassam demonstrated in my shoulder replacement surgery was far and above what I expected. He made sure that every step was clear to me he and his staff made every effort to make sure that I received the best possible care.

I saw Dr Kassam in Sept 2023 for a badly broken humerus. He recommended conservative treatment with use of a brace. I was not fully convinced this was aggressive enough for the severity of my fracture so I sought a second opinion. I eventually had surgery and have fully recovered. However, ever since my consult with Dr. Kassam, I have been trying to resolve an errant bill with no success. He has charged me $1020 to "treat" my humerus fracture. I saw this doctor one time and during this visit, he took no X-ray and did not even touch me. So, I am left to wonder what "treatment" I received! I have called Newport Orthopedic Institute (NOI) billing AT LEAST 10 TIMES trying to speak to someone who can explain this errant charge. I have also called their main line looking for someone who will listen to my concerns. NOI has established an impenetrable wall behind which they hide from the patients seeking clarification on their business practices. It is now February 2024 and NOI has made it abundantly clear that they have no intention of explaining the so-called treatment I received and have threatened to send the bill to collections. So beware of both Dr. Kassam who overbills and NOI who studiously ignores patients concerns and complaints. I will never go back to their offices again. There are much better options in Orange County!

Dr Hafiz Kassam is an excellent surgeon! I meet him on April 2021 on Newport Orthopedic Center , I was suffering from a left shoulder pain doing to an injury, for the pass year I was on a lot of pain, shoulder and neck , he also referred me to a specialist for the spinal pain, I have a lot to be grateful for , he guide me trough the process of getting my surgery, arthroscopic surgery, he give me all the info the pros and cons, and what to expect , recovery process, etc.
I had the surgery on 9/12/22.. and everything when great , thank you so much Dr Kassam and to all the staff at Newport Orthopedic.

I was on the fence for awhile about getting my shoulder repaired but I'm very happy I did it. The care I received from Dr Kassam and the staff was fantastic. The surgery center experience was easy and I felt very well cared for. Questions answered professionally and what I could expect was explained very truthfully and the experience was easier and better than I imagined. I would not hesitate to recommend his services.

On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being best, Dr. Kassam is an 11. jMy surgery could noit not have gone better and his cjommunication with me was excellent, This is one of the few reviews that I have given.

After abusing my right shoulder in the Home Repair and Construction business over the past 32 years, I was in extreme pain every day of the week, every week of the month since November of 2021. As it turned out; my rotator cuff was beyond repair and I needed a complete right reverse shoulder replacement.
Dr. Kassam met with me in February, examined me, and asked me all the pertenant questions and then very clearly informed me of all of the details of the operation and what to expect afterwards. He was very clear about what was expected of me as well. He laid down some very strict rules regarding MY responsibilities for the success of the operation. He made it very clear that I would be wasting my time and his if I didn't religiously follow the rules. There were some unpleasant things that I had to do if I wanted to be pain-free and functional when all was said and done. He repeated the instructions numerous times and asked me if I understood his instructions, and wether or not I planned to carry my portion of the burden. He then proceeded to secure April 8th as the date for the operation.
While waiting for the surgery date, there we're a number of things that needed to be completed and at every step Dr.Kassam would remind me of the rules and ask me if I was up to the task at hand. It was clear to me that Dr. Kassam takes his profession very seriously.
I walked through the entry doors of the HOAG Hospital in Irvine with pure confidence on April 8, 2022 and was treated with the utmost of care and respect by all of the various newfound family members who facilitated my experiences over the next two days.
My surgery lasted less than two hours and it went perfectly. The entire team of professionals who had anything at all to do with my care introduced themselves and wished me a speedy recovery.... More newfound family members!
I went home with a brand new, smooth operating shoulder and because I followed Dr. Kassam's instructions before and after his perfect surgical skills, my Physical Therapist is witnessing one of the best rehabilitation therapies in his career. A modest range of motion goal of 140 degrees was set for sixteen weeks of therapy, yet on the very first day my range of motion was already at 150 degrees.
I'm making slow progress with each session and I am very confident that when I have finished therapy, I will be beyond 'back to normal' function; I will have significantly better function.
I'm sure that you have all seen the negative review that was posted and updated sometime back. All I can say about that person's experience with Dr. Kassam is that he probably didn't follow the very strict instructions that Dr. Kassam gives to ALL of his patients. ANYONE can make a mess of a job well done... Even when that job was done to perfection.
Dr. Kassam is a perfectionist and he wants and gives nothing but the BEST for each and every patient. When he has finished giving the patient the best possible surgical care; it's the patient's responsibility to carry that perfection forward.
The bottom line is that Dr. Kassam is the BEST!

Dr. Kassam is a top notch surgeon! I'm a physician assistant and had a fall which shattered my humerus in 4 pieces recently. I had 3 different doctors tell me that it was a difficult injury not promising me they could fix it or that I would have good range of motion of my elbow ever again. I met with Dr. Kassam and even though he understood the difficulty of the injury he was up for the challenge. And he fixed my arm!!! I now have 8 screws and a plate in my humerus with only 10-11% deficit in range of motion SIX weeks post surgery! I can now return to work and do surgery again in order to help my own patients. Thank you Dr. Kassam for taking on my difficult case and working miracles!
