Good value for some family fun in Manassas Park!
Pros: This is a great place for the family to go for some inexpensive exercise. Manassas Park resident adults are only $4 and that gets you access to the fitness center, gym, and pool. We also took our infant son to an Easter Egg hunt here that was extremely well organized and enjoyed by us and our family!
We recently took our soon in the water here for the first time and he loved it! The beach area provided enough room for us to enjoy the water in our own space away from the other kids who were splashing and playing.
They also have an eight-lane 25yd area for swimming laps. Every time I've been to the center there has been plenty of space.
Cons: The family changing rooms near the pool are oddly configured. It's great that the community center has them, but four smaller rooms would've been better than two large ones (just an observation, not an expectation to rebuild!).
The changing stations in family rooms do not seem stable. They indicate that they're rated to 50lbs, but we didn't feel comfortable putting our son (who is only 20lbs) on at least one of them.
Four out of five for a great value family experience!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David A.Manhattan, NY072Nov 29, 2023
1 Star Review. Pickleball is a fun sport. So much so that I wanted to include my family in the sport over our Thanksgiving break. I had called Manassas Park Community Center since we were visiting the area and had asked if it would be a problem bringing 7-10 people with me who didn't know the game- Dawn said no problem! They even have the wooden paddles, balls, nets. I thought wow- what a jackpot.
We went and what a disaster. The person in charge is BONNIE- and she is very passive aggressive.
BONNIE even tried to sabotage us using the facility paddles, almost getting in the middle physically so that they would not give us paddies. We had to go to the front desk for their assistance with this- as Bonnie didn't want us to use them. Even though they had around 30 paddles.
BONNIE did not welcome us and got hung up on us setting up a net for three people instead of four. No one needed the court or our space- BONNIE was just being a nasty old lady.
BONNIE was very cruel to my family and had such bad energy. Even the regular people that go and play pickleball said how "Everyone has their own Bonnie story". Bonnie should be ashamed of herself- this is a game that people come to have fun- not to be tortured every step of the way. We were new to this gym and very excited to come to- we didn't know all the ins and outs- but after meeting this horrible leader - we def won't be back. We asked for our money back and Dawn wouldn't refund us.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susan C.Manassas, VA012Sep 22, 2020
I am VERY disappointed in the decisions this facility is making during the Covid 19 crisis. It was totally closed from mid March till August 7th. Now it is closing its facility again to everyone except 20 or more students to be a hub for virtual learning. There are plenty of rooms to house students, but why do they have to close the pool? Why aren't the empty schools hosting the students? I thought it was a COMMUNITY CENTER! Not to mention all the instructors who have taught classes have now lost their jobs! At a time when seniors are more vulnerable to this illness, I would think this center would consider exercise as an important element to staying healthy. I guess they just don't care!

Came here for a dodgeball tournament and had a wonderful time! Mike Arrington did a great job running everything.
The staff (new to dodgeball) did a great job refereeing the game. The facilities are new and very nice. The basketball courts can even be divided up into four different courts with the dividers!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anna N.Alexandria, VA149358573Mar 24, 2017
As far as community centers go this is a home run. Manassas is very lucky to have a center like this one with activities for all sorts of people: kickball, swimming, camps, books, even a free health clinic. The value is really good only $4 per visit. Always good vibes from the staff.

The community center is well on its way to being a 5 star family place. The staff are nice and they always try to help and are great with children. The new $99 all access pass is great. I can do group classes, kids camps and lessons here for my family of 9 and never pay a penny more.

The stars is friendly as other reviews have stated but it's been three times in the past month the staff has given me the wrong information about availability....open access for my teen boys. Very frustrating when I drive 10 miles following a verification of open gym and after arriving the gyms are reserved for scheduled activities. Total waste of time! I can understand occasional mistakes like this but 3 times in a month. It's either poor training or employees just don't care about paying customers. I hope management sees this review and responds because you can't have our tax payer dollars bit properly managed by professional adults.

The lifeguards there aren't consistent with the rules and regulations apparently. One lifeguard told me barbells and any type of flotation devices were not permitted in the pool as other children were playing with similar flotation devices in the pool, then when I questioned about it he said He didn't see them using it. They were in the pool as well so your job is to observe which clearly he wasn't. Very annoyed. If rules are there they should be enforced for everyone. The front desk was also not very welcoming or helpful
