Exceptional, hand cast, solid bronze custom derby covers. Designed and crafted by me, in my own shop, right here in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. This is not mass produced, imported junk. This is the real thing: Premium, American quality you will be proud to own and run on your Harley Davidson.
A while back, I watched a few episodes of the “Vikings” series, and knew I needed to come up with a seriously badass Viking derby cover design. I think this fits the bill.
I started with a head sculpt of a Viking warrior, then added a Viking compass in the center, as well as some rune text running in a circle. That text is a little bit of an Easter egg: I did some research, and supposedly it is an accurate translation of the phrase I chose for this design, but who’s to say if internet sources are reliable. See if you can figure it out. If you want, give me a call and I’ll tell you!
Last, I added a Celtic weave around the outside perimeter, which is always a favorite design feature.

What's Included
In addition to the derby cover, I include black oxide coated mounting bolts. Feel free to use your existing mounting bolts if you prefer, but I like the look of the black oxide against the bronze patina.
Derby Cover Sizing
I support six different derby cover sizes, covering all Big Twins and most Sportsters made since 1970. Note that there might be minor design variations between sizes in order to accommodate differences in the derby cover geometry. Complete details on derby cover sizing are located here. If you are unsure of which one you need, give me a call at 402 321 9639. We'll get it worked out.
Lead Time
All custom derby covers are made to order. Approximate production lead time is 60 days. If you have a situation (an upcoming ride, an event, etc) that means you need it sooner, please contact me first and I will see what I can do. Understand that these really are made by hand, and sometimes things go wrong on the first try. I will not ship a custom derby cover I am not proud of, so I always re-melt my duds. When that happens, the time frame for shipping gets extended.
Maintenance
If you select a natural bronze finish, your derby cover will darken and patina with age. If you want to maintain its original appearance, you will need to polish it regularly (Brasso works well), and apply a coating of paste wax.
If you select either gloss of matte 2k clearcoat, your derby cover is maintenance free. Just wash with the same mild soap you use on the rest of your motorcycle, and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use polishing compounds or other abrasives on your clearcoated derby cover.
