Despite referring to him as her husband, Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons aren’t married.
While talking to Giuliana Rancic on the Golden Globes 2020 red carpet, Dunst referred to Plemons as her “husband,” but quickly cut herself off before saying more. The couple had previously only ever said they were engaged and were busy wedding planning.
However, a rep for the actress confirmed to Page Six they’re not officially married — Dunst simply refers to him as her husband.
Dunst, 37, and Plemons, 31, welcomed son Ennis Howard, in May 2018.
In August 2019, Dunst — who is nominated at Sunday night’s awards show in the Actress, Musical or Comedy category for her role in “On Becoming a God in Central Florida” — explained why she and Plemons weren’t married yet.
“But we’re about as married as you can get. We have a kid together,” Dunst told PorterEdit. “My mom was like, ‘But when are you guys getting married?’ And I said, ‘Mom, I’m not going to get married when I’m pregnant. I want to have fun and have a drink. I mean, we’re paying for this wedding. I’m paying for the bar! I want to enjoy it.’
“[My mom is] kind of old school that way.”
