6 Vibrant Photos of the Glamorous Bar Refaeli in the Maldives

Her fourth year with the SI Swimsuit Issue, the model brought just as much energy and beauty as ever.

For model Bar Refaeli, heading to the Maldives was a dream come true. “I’ve always wanted to be in the Maldives. Every three feet, the color of the water changes,” she said while on the set of her 2010 SI Swimsuit photoshoot. It was her fourth consecutive year with the brand and her first trip to the tropical destination. 

She considered herself “so lucky” for the opportunity to visit the South Asian country. While there, she had the chance to work with photographer Walter Iooss Jr., an experience that she said was both “very different” and “exciting.”

“I think that every picture he’s [taking], he’s doing a timeless feature that would be incredible no matter where we are,” she remarked of his style of work and the impressive snaps he was taking. And she wasn’t wrong—the final series of photos were an impressive bunch, in part because of his skills and in part because of her impressive modeling experience.

Refaeli graced the cover of the SI Swimsuit Issue only the year prior after posing in the Grenadines. The 38-year-old first started modeling when she was only months old, earing a role in several commercials early in her life. Her current modeling career kicked off much later on, when she was 15, eventually leading her to the SI Swimsuit family.

Her 2010 trip to the Maldives was one for the books. Here are just a few of the flattering photos of Refaeli in the tropical locale.
