Several fan-favorite fairies, like Tecna (left) and Flora (right), are not currently part of Fate: The Winx Saga. That said, their appearance in future seasons — should Netflix choose to order them — is not being ruled out
Other fan favourites “Fate: The Winx Saga” didn’t include are Brandon (Stella’s boyfriend and Sky’s best friend) and Bloom’s pet bunny Kiko. I was expecting Kiko as he was so important to Bloom in the animated series and surely they could have made a place for him in the new series. I hope if they do include Tecna and Flora at some point that they also include Timmy and Helia. Also, Beatrix is apparently based on Icy, Darcy and Stormy, the Witches (aka The Trix) from the animated series.
So I knew I had to go in with an open mind because this is a live action based off of a great anime… Literally 5 minutes in and I felt like I was watching a copy of The Magicians. They just decided to call it “Winx” and use the characters names. The story and characters are dark and nothing would be wrong with that but its how it was done. To top it off the winx were fierce, stylish, and kind but none of that is here they are all angry emo characters with issues. Its like when an anime adapts a manga and changes the source material. It will not come out great … it comes out like “The Last Air Bender” live action. Those who LOVED the original Winx will NOT love this…if someone didn’t see the original they wont have any expectations and it will be fine (unless they looked at The Magicians, which Fate: The Winx Saga is a copy of in my opinion.) For anyone that looked at the original Winx I would say skip this series. I don’t see it getting a second season and if it does it will probably be canceled after season 2. The story is not great and very cliché. They took everything out that made WINX … WINX.
I very much agree you took the words out of my mouth. The script is very poorly written and the characters are all so mean and nasty to bloom in the early stages I remember them being chic and stylish and BFFS and Stella wasn’t suppose to be so evil.
I used to watch winx a lot when I was a kid; obsessed even. But I honestly love this live action version. I feel like now that all of us are grown up, watching this made me feel like it was still winx club, but for us adults. Personally if they were to make it just like the original, it just wouldn’t be as fun for me to watch. Yes nostalgic, just not new. I’m really liking it! I do miss flora and tecna though.
I’m just on the 2nd season and I’m feeling sad that they make the characters mean and how they dress is not what I expect. I hope that even thought they change a lot of things from the animated version atleast make them stylish. I really don’t understand their outfit. Seems they are not Winx, they just have the same name and powers, nothing else. This live version is kind off dark instead of fun happy magical which was supposed to feel in fairies. Hoping that I can still finish this season 1. :-(
Okay, so I’ve been a huge fan of the Winx for many years, but I have to say, I did not hate the live action series. If you take it for what it is, an adaptation that can only improve over time as the other fairies transform, I think it will be pretty cool. I enjoyed what I’ve watched so far.
Ok, I’m a little upset that they don’t have Tecna and Flora. Why have Flora’s cousin Terra but not her?? Makes mo sense. Also don’t like how mean Stella is!🙄
imo Beatrix = The Trix
I’m really excited to see what new is to come for Fate: The Winx Saga!! I have watched the anime series with my girls and now that they are teenagers it’s exciting to continue it with the live action young adults series!! Also I hope it doesn’t take like 6 months to a year for the next series. Lol!! Sorry Netflix u all do wait way to long to play the next series on really really good shows. Love u guys!! 😝😘
This show shouldn’t be called winx it should just be called the magicians or smth cos it has nothing to do with the winx series except for the names. They removed tecna, flora, THE TRIX, brandon, timmy, kiko… also WHY IS STELLA SO MEAN !! She was supposed to be her bff since the beginning and musa is so weird and wtf is going on with terra why would they put flora’s cousin? Just put flora omg. Very poor writing, i got bored so fast and the fact that it has nothing to do with the actual series i grew up watching just made it worse. And pls why are they dressed like that they’re supposed to be stylish af and stella is supposed to help them dress like her !! I hate this.
Beatrix seems like stormy from the original Winx Club could be a change but very well seems like her
I’m genuinely loving this live action show so far!! I grew up watching it and for those that are saying it has nothing to do with the actual show, did you even watch it? Yes it’s missing a few characters, but it literally has blooms original backstory in it, the training all of them have to go through, and yes Beatrix is there now. BUT shes literally the combination of all of The Trix. If anything, I feel like the writers knew that our generation has grown up and I feel like this is a nice adult version of it. It’s not the same, but it’s not too different either. I’m very excited to see what happens next 🥰
I watched this live action with an open mind as well, but I could help but be overly critical. I used to watch the Winx Club a lot when it was on TV, my bad for be precious. I was a bit disappointed in Bloom’s character trait she was never that selfish to the point of self sabotage in the original series… she knew she was powerful, the Trix knew she was power and they wanted her power. The fact that they made Stella as mean as she was irritated me. The fact that the teachers that great at this Alfea says so much. These teachers want you to be ready to fight against a burnt one but there is no transparency as to why. Everyone also looks human- besides the burnt ones, in the Winx Club there were professors, students, citizens that weren’t human. There were trolls, pixies, leprechauns, etc. I was upset to see that limited the powers of the fairies to only the elements and mind; because there was so much more. I guess they did that for budget concerns. It’s weird though, because I see it as potential. They just need something amazing for this next season or it might die. I was watching it and asking myself, do I like it? I don’t know, yet. Lol I still don’t know. I was saying to my friend they could have make this exact show not referenced the Winx Club at all and it would have been a better show in my eyes. But because I know the characters in the other show….they messed up their own show by not keeping with the essence of the original characters.
Note to screen writers: turn it around. Thanks.
Very disappointing 😞 they ruined the WinX club
