City of Manassas

Overview

Living in Manassas, VA

A historic heart with a modern beat less than an hour from Washington, D.C.

Manassas history dates back to 1852 when a junction railroad linked Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. with the Shenandoah Valley and Richmond, Virginia. This was soon followed by the first major land battle of the Civil War. Today, young professionals and families dine al fresco at downtown eateries, shop weekly farmers markets and meet up with friends at events like the annual Jazz Festival and Bands, Brews, and Barbecue Festival.
