The fairy tale story of Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United ended after a long-standing saga. He now plays at the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, enjoying soccer. However, his mind-boggling interview with Piers Morgan caused a lot of drama amongst the fans and former United players alike. One such player is Gary Neville. The former United right-back criticized Ronaldo frequently and threw him under the bus. Since then, Ronaldo explained how Neville used his name to ‘become famous’ in the explosive Piers Morgan interview.

Although fans loved their prodigal son, Neville came up with an analysis by pointing out the “massive differences” when Ronaldo played in the club, comparing him to current striker Wout Weghorst. He used the drawing board to explain the differences in team build-up play and team goals scored without Ronaldo on the team with another eye-opening analysis.

In the latest episode of Sky Sports Monday Night Football, Neville pointed out the differences. He compared the two strikers playing for United and the influence he had. Analyzing the 19 starts of Ronaldo and Wout, the club won nine games with Ronaldo and 12 with Weghorst. They managed three draws with Ronaldo, while Wout helped them to get four. But in the defeats column, United lost seven games with Ronaldo and only failed to win in three games with Wout. The differences in the team’s performances are visible.

Hence, the Englishman spoke about the differences in team chemistry and results in the analysis.

He said, “They are massive differences. It’s just the sort of strangeness, the oddities of football, that you can have a player in the team who quite clearly isn’t good enough to be a Manchester United center-forward. But has actually brought more profit to the team overall in terms of wins, less defeats, more goals.”

CR7 hits back at Gary Neville during Piers Morgan interview

It comes after the famous interview with Morgan, as Ronaldo claimed how some United players used his name to become famous. In the Piers Morgan interview, Ronaldo mentioned, “It’s easy to criticize. I don’t know if you’d have a job in television that they must criticize in a way to be more famous. I don’t understand even if they use your name a bit too, and I think they take advantage of that because they are not stupid.”
