The Penny Patchwork Blanket is extra thick and warm and a GREAT way to use your extra yarn!
This blanket is made in strips: make one strip with as many patches as you want, and add the next strip by directly joining the two together. NO sewing or joining patches required. Only 16 pegs required.
The pattern includes the suggested sizes below but you can easily make the blanket as high and wide as you'd like. All patches in the sizes below are the same size.
SIZES
-- Baby (Stroller): 30 x 35 inches
-- Small Throw (Crib/Toddler): 48 x 60 inches
-- Large Throw: 60 x 72 inches
-- Double: 80 x 90 inches
-- Queen: 90 x 100 inches
GAUGE
-- Gauge: 4x4 inches = 10 pegs, 16 rows (alternate rows of e-wrap knit and purl)
-- Recommended looms = Loops & Threads® Knit Quick™ Knitting Loom Set (largest loom); Loops & Threads® Knit Quick™ Long Loom Set or Knitting Board Flexee Loom Links Chunky (I used the latter)
TOOLS REQUIRED
-- Super Bulky (6) yarn. The picture above is Wool Ease Thick and Quick. For best pattern results, use a yarn of similar weight
-- Loom for bulky yarn (16 pegs)
-- Loom knitting hook
-- 8-10 MM crochet hook (for casting on)
-- Yarn needle
-- Row counter (recommended)
