Christina Aguilera made her return to the stage for Pride this past weekend, and dazzled onstage in a colorful, edgy number.

Headlining the Pride Island concert on Sunday at New York City’s Brooklyn Army Terminal, the singer flaunted her figure onstage in a sheer black bodysuit embellished all over with rainbow-colored sequins. Adding another layer of edge to the look, she added a body chain that incorporated a leather choker and silver chains around the bodice, as well as a matching black two-strap thong studded with silver nail heads.

She accessorized the maximalist ’fit with oversize black sunglasses featuring large white pearls over the lenses, and wore her long, straight platinum-blonde hair in pigtails.

Throughout the show, the pop star performed a slew of her hits, including “Genie in a Bottle,” “Come on Over Baby (All I Want Is You),” “What a Girl Wants,” “Beautiful,” and “Fighter.”

She was joined onstage by former American Idol contestant and queer advocate Adam Lambert, who performed alongside her on “Lady Marmalade,” her hit joint single with Pink, Mýa, and Lil’ Kim, from Baz Lurhmann’s 2001 jukebox musical Moulin Rouge! Lambert opted for a leopard-print green-and-black shirt, which he left unbuttoned, and black bell-bottom pants. He topped off the look with purple eye shadow and spiky green hair.

Ahead of her performance with Lambert, Aguilera shared emphatic, uplifting words with the crowd. “There’s times where we’re looking for answers and we’re looking for hope,” she said, addressing the wave of anti-queer legislation recently passed by state legislatures across the United States. “There’s a lot of bleak things out there right now. We are here tonight and we stand in unison to be free to be ourselves.”

“Sometimes we have to remember to stay hopeful and wish others well even in the darkest times,” the singer continued. “So let’s put well-wishes into the world. Here’s hoping for a beautiful future.”

Aguilera also shared reflections on her past career. “It has been such a long and beautiful journey in my career, and I feel like I’ve come full circle today at this point,” she said to the crowd. “Thank you guys so much for giving me everything a girl could have asked for. … I want to give everything back to you at this point. You deserve all of it and more.”
