THE FUERZA Aérea Colombiana (FAC, Colombian Air Force) has received at least six Rafael I-Derby ER air-toair missiles from Israel.

Colombia is expected to buy more – using funds from the 2018 budget – providing for an initial total of 16 in the FAC inventory after a contract for their acquisition was signed in January.

The I-Derby ER is being used to arm six FAC Kfirs upgraded with the Elta EL/M-2052 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar. Another three Kfirs will be similarly upgraded under the ‘Colosseum’ project.
