What's Vulp

Product Story

Nabalis designs the Vulp in collaboration with Will Hirsch.

Its stylings and designs are similar to many classic balisongs, but the design gives the Vulp a style of its own.

The geometric patterns on the handles are inspired by Will's favorite feature, “Fox Logo”, and provide good grip in the necessary areas while flipping.

Bowie style suits Will’s taste and is used for the blade of Vulp trainer.

Even more to the point, some impressive jimpings on the bottom of the handles are added to create extra grip in this area, so as to help with “Ladders” learning.

In fact, many design details are intentional, targeting groups of men who are longing for getting into the hobby.

The balance is adjusted so that “Chaplins” is easier to successfully do and maintain, and the handles are spaced apart to prevent accidental pinching while
learning.

The ultimate purpose of the Vulp balisong/ butterfly knife trainer is to be one of the best entry-level options on the market, making it easier for anyone to learn and get into this fantastic hobby.

A message from Will Hirsch

I worked very hard to create this trainer with all of the design features I would have wanted when learning. Lots of testing was done by me, my friends, or just random balisong community members. I took as much feedback as I could and I am honestly very proud of the final version. I hope you enjoy it too!

Bushing System

The Vulp has a high-quality bushing system, which has been professionally adjusted before selling to ensure a smooth swing and a suit flipping experience, no tap, barely any play!

Note: After long time flipping, it needs to be maintained and restored to its best condition by replacing the washers or tuning the bushings.

Best balisong I have had

Best balisong in this price range.
Dont know if i was lucky or if the quality is just this good on these no handel play at all and super smooth.
Only "downside" is that it is a bit loud but some lube fixes the worst.

Beginner level - the Vulp is a must

Straight out of the box flips fantastically sounds amazing sings like a bird balance and overall production quality including the price tag is just outstanding this is probably hands down the best entry level trainer. Slightly handle bias which makes beginner level stuff bit easier and just generally with this knife everything falls in place perfectly. the grip is very well made with really cool and clever design that actually works and improves the performance and efficiency of the knife and feels solid when holding in hand. I think i'm going to get myself a Canyon next i'm reading only great stuff about it i really can't wait to try it.

The vulp is great and I’ve been enjoying learning on the vulp as it is my first balisong my only complaint is that it sounds clunky instead of a ring but can’t complain to much considering the price.
