Most Arab towns consist of a densely built homogenous fabric pf private houses without prober public buildings to give a sense of collective cultural identity manifested through architecture. This project started with the desire to break free from the introverted typology of public schools, that normally sit on the site without consideration to their potential outward benefit, their facades totally insignificant to the exterior.

We proposed a linear scheme that spans the plot diagonally. It creates a significant continuous public façade facing the open spaces in front of it, thus giving more definition and weight both to the building and the open courtyard.

We hope that in the future their wont be requirement for closed walls around education compounds, and people from  town would walk along the building using its playgrounds as a park.  the jagged roof adds to the height of the building making it very prominent in its context and the use of industrial materials distinguishes it from its surroundings.

In both levels the classrooms are aligned along corridors open from their side and overlooking the courtyard.

The landscape design uses different surfaces in the courtyards aligned in narrow strips as a continuation of the surrounding agricultural fields.

The use of industrial materials corresponds to the educational program of the school, one that focuses on technology and manual technique , the building being itself an edifice composed of different materials and finishes, we hope it would be a source of inspiration for their work.
