Kaia Gerber might have a subconscious thing for Elvis. The model has now dated two actors who have either stepped or are about to step into Elvis Presley's famous blue suede shoes and leather pants: her current flame, Austin Butler, and her ex, Jacob Elordi.
Austin famously played the music legend in Baz Luhrmann's flashy Elvis, and now Jacob is set to take on the role for an upcoming Sofia Coppola project. As noted by Variety, Jacob will play Elvis opposite Cailee Spaeny in Priscilla, a movie based on Elvis's ex-wife Priscilla Presley's memoir Elvis and Me. We're anticipating a slightly different take on the material than Luhrmann's version, which centered mostly on the Elvis story via his manager Colonel Parker. Coppola wrote and will direct the movie, her first major project in several years. Variety reports that the movie starts shooting in Toronto this fall, so we may be seeing some pics of Jacob in full Elvis costume soon.
This isn't the first time the Euphoria actor has played Elvis, though. Kaia and Jacob actually dressed up as Elvis and Priscilla for Halloween in 2020, with costumes inspired by a '70s-era photo of the pair. Kaia rocked Priscilla's sky-high teased bouffant and Jacob wore a blue suit and sideburns to channel the late musician.
No release date or further casting info for Priscilla has been shared yet, but we're super excited to see Jacob's take on Elvis ASAP.
