Uptown, guests at the Met Gala will be treated to a number of Prada pieces in Andrew Bolton’s exacting exhibition “Manus x Machina.” But what of downtown in Prada’s Soho epicenter? Under the careful design of 2x4 studio, the Rem Koolhaas–designed space has been transformed by an installation called “PradaVision,” which turns the store’s central ramp into a showcase for its Fall 2016 collection. On the steps—or bleachers, as Prada calls them—video installations project the house’s recent show, still images by Willy Vanderperre, and elegant backstage imagery, all of which is topped off with a circle of mannequins in Fall 2016 looks, some available for preorder now. Upstairs, Christophe Chemin’s surreal illustrations are reworked into a wallpaper that lines the space’s main hallway.

The Fall-centric installation isn’t the only good news for Prada fans: The house has produced a capsule collection of items in honor of the Met Gala that is available for sale at the Broadway store. Four sets of silken pajamas in tropical florals would make for great after-party-wear, while a crepe dress tipped in contrast colors is a subtle nod to the hand-versus-machine-made idea that inform this year’s theme. The “PradaVision” display will be live through May 8.
