The Rebel Clown Army took part in the Carnival for Full Enjoyment which caused disruption on the streets of Edinburgh on the 4th July 2005. The protest was aimed at sending a message to leaders of the G8 who were meeting for the summit talks at Gleneagles in Perthshire between July 6th and 8th. Unlike the Make Poverty History Campaign these people were protesting about the exploitation of working class people who are tied to low wages, benefits and debts. Their aim was to cause as much disruption to businesses by peacefully occupying the streets but due to their not arranging their protest with the authorities, this lead to confrontation with the Police.
