While appearing on Friends was the highlight of many a star's career, do not count Elle Macpherson among them.

The Aussie supermodel has revealed that she regrets appearing on the iconic US sitcom (yikes) as Joey's (Matt LeBlanc) roommate-turned-lover Janine Lecroix.

"If I'd known how important it was in the US or how long it would be on TV, I may not have chosen to do it," Elle told TV Week (via Metro).

"It was a lot of pressure if you look at it in the way that it will be around for 20 or 30 years," she added.

She also revealed that NBC offered her more of a storyline, but she turned it down as she was living in London at the time.

Speaking of its ongoing appeal, the 52-year-old told The Western Australian: "Friends is still very popular where we live in America, and reruns are on constantly.

"[My son and his friends] know me as Janine Lecroix and they are always like, 'Oh you know, Cy's mum, she is on Friends'."

While many Friends fans are still hoping for a reunion, LeBlanc recently ruled out the possibility of his former cast mates cameoing on his new sitcom Man With A Plan, saying: "We're on a break. Because there's no plan to have anything like that.

"The most logical one would be Matthew [Perry] because he's on another CBS show and they're right next door, but there hasn't been any talk for any of that yet."

Friends ran for a decade between 1994 and 2004.
