After decades of success in Hollywood thanks to the Fast & Furious franchise, Vin Diesel is turning his attention to dominating a whole new category of entertainment. The actor officially made his first foray into the world of pop music on Thursday with the release of his debut single, “Feel Like I Do.”

Diesel partnered with Norweigian DJ Kygo on the pop EDM track which was written and produced by Petey Martin and released on Kygo's label, Palm Tree Records. In his debut single, the actor gently croons in his signature craggy voice, telling a story of falling in love at first sight over a driving rhythm with upbeat synth flourishes. He first debuted the song on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week, sharing a video of himself in the recording studio saying, “Kelly, I am so honored to be able to debut my music on your show because you, since you first won [American] Idol until today, have somehow maintained your authenticity. I am blessed that on a year that I would normally be on a movie set, as you know that's not possible, I've had another creative outlet, another way to show you or share with you my heart. to that end, one of the people that first believe in me was Kygo…I hope you like it.”

While this may be Diesel's first formal contribution to the music industry, it's hardly the first time he's stepped behind the mic to show off his vocal prowess. The actor previously broke out into an emotional rendition of “See You Again” at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, posted a video of himself performing Tove Lo's “Habits( Stay High)” on his Facebook page as a tribute to Paul Walker, as well as Gwen Stefani and Adam Levine's “My Heart Is Open,” and ad-libbed over Selena Gomez's “Dream.” But all of those performances pale in comparison to his quintessential karaoke performance of Rihanna's “Stay,” which is really more immersive performance art than mere late-night sing-along.
